North Wales Photography Workshops

Llanddwyn (meaning “The church of St. Dwynwen”) for those of you unfamiliar with it, is a stunning section of land that is located on the wonderful open sandy beach of Newborough on the gorgeous island of Anglesey in North Wales. Llanddwyn is almost an island as it gets cut off from the mainland a couple of times a day due to its location on the beach but there is so much to photograph there. There is the iconic Twr Mawr lighthouse (which starred in the 2006 movie ‘Half Light’ starring Demi Moore), the pilots cottages which housed those who guided ships into the Strait, the St Dwynwen’s Cross, Twr Bach beacon and of course the stunning golden sandy beaches and coves that exist too.

North Wales has some of the most stunning scenery in the north west of England and the focus of this one day workshop will be in and around the Llyn Ogwen and Llyn Idawl areas. Llyn Ogwen is one of the most popular lakes in North Wales and is surrounded by high mountains, including Pen yr Ole Wen and Tryfan which are considered to be some of the finest mountains in Wales. Llyn Idwal is located opposite Llyn Ogwen and up a walking track that takes about twenty minutes to reach. It’s a gorgeous little lake that is nestled in the valley of the Glyderau mountains of Snowdonia. Both locations are worthy of a day’s photography indeed.
